The reporters on the Daily Post (North Wales’s regional daily newspaper) and the BBC News on line have kept the name of Ogwen Valley Mountain Rescue Organisation in the media. In addition live interviews with Team members have been heard on BBC radio and BBC Wales TV. Over the years we have built up good relations with the press and in particular Roger Pinney of the BBC who once upon a time was reporting on new radios at Bryn Poeth when the Team was called out so he could report on both subjects. In addition Roger has even taken to the water as part of our Swift Water Rescue Training, all faithfully captured on camera.
Although the Press Officer is meant to be the spokesman for the Team, he cannot always be there. On these occasions Team Leaders have stepped in for live interviews and Team Members have also given interviews in their native Welsh tongue.
