Rescue Floating Rope 11mm

More details: 'Swift Water Rescue'

A rope with similar properties to low-stretch (abseil) rope, but constructed differently, the Aqua Tech is a low stretch rope with a polyamide sheath for abrasion and frictional heat resistance, but with a polypropylene core to make the rope light enough to float. Thus this rope will not sink to the bottom of pools - an essential safety factor when dealing with swift water.

Land Rover 130 4x4 Ambulance

More details: 'Transport'
Soon it will be time to think about replacing our trusty Land Rover 130 4x4 Ambulance. We currently have two and these really are the best suited vehicles for our needs. Why use 130 and not a standard 110. Simply put these modified Land Rovers can accommodate a stretcher easily and without any modifications on site. This makes for a smoother transfer for the casualty and offers larger load carrying space for the team. If you can help in full or part then why not contact us to discuss sponsorship opportunities, we would happily display your company logos for the lifetime of the vehicle.

Projector

More details: 'Information Technology'

As the OVMRO is funded by donations from the public we find ourselves not only recuing people but also spending time fundraising to cover the running costs of the team. Currently we are able to provide presentations to organisations and schools in return for a donation. This is done with the use of a slide projector or as often the case with no visual tools at all. To bring our presentations up the date we would like to purchase a projector which would be able to work with a laptop so that we could deliver the professional quality presentation that people have come to expect.

GPS Enabled Handset

More details: 'Communications'

We are currently replacing our old hand held radios which have given us many years of faithful service with new state of the art GPS enabled radios. For the first time in the teams history it is the intention to issue each hill going team member with their own personal GPS Radio. Sadly all this come at a price and in this case the whole project will cost around £20,000. But you can help on a smaller scale by helping purchase one or part of a handheld GPS radio. As they say, "every little helps".
